With a population of more than 1.3 billion, India is home to majestic sights such as the Taj Mahal and the Golden Temple of Amritsar. Unfortunately, according to UNICEF it is also home to 29.6 million orphans. Approximately 60 million children in India live below poverty level and about 500,000 are forced into sex trafficking every year. Daburuvaripalli was our first Indian orphanage project. The village of Duburuvaripalli with a population of 4,500 is located in the Andhra Pradesh region. Pastor Kodavatikanti Vijayachan and his church oversee our orphanage there. This orphanage is unique, in that it is in a 3 story building, with the orphanage sandwiched between the church below and the parsonage above, providing the children an added measure of protection. We are blessed and honored to have our 5th orphanage built in this village where the church/orphanage has become the cornerstone for this community. Please continue to pray for Pastor Kodavatikanti, his family, the church members, and the orphans who live and thrive in Daburuvaripalli.
